Press release
AutoScout24 takes full ownership of AutoProff and accelerates investments to support the next phase of European growth
Vejle, July 1st 2026 – AutoScout24 has acquired the remaining shares in AutoProff, taking full ownership of one of Europe’s leading B2B platforms for used-car trading. Following several years of strong growth, AutoScout24 is further accelerating investments in AutoProff to support the next phase of product innovation, AI-driven development, and international expansion.
Founded in Denmark in 2013, AutoProff has grown into one of Europe’s largest B2B platforms for used-car trading. Since AutoScout24’s first investment in 2022, AutoProff has doubled its vehicle sales and tripled its revenue through European expansion and new value adding services. Today, AutoProff connects more than 10,000 professional buyers and sellers across Europe and plays a key role in enabling frictionless cross-border vehicle trading across Europe.
“AutoProff’s success has been built on a deep understanding of dealer needs, trusted partner-like customer relationships, and a relentless focus on innovation,” said Peter Brooks-Johnson, CEO of AutoScout24. “The team has built a unique culture of customer obsession, innovation, and execution that has enabled the company to grow very fast. We are excited to increase our investment and support AutoProff’s next phase of growth. The B2B market opportunity remains significant, and we believe AutoProff is uniquely positioned to help dealers grow their used car business in this increasingly complex and international used-car market.”
New market conditions require smarter solutions
The increased investments come at a time when European used-car markets are changing rapidly. As demand for electric vehicles continues to grow and demand for petrol and diesel vehicles gradually declines across AutoProff’s core markets, particularly in across the Nordics, cross-border sourcing and sales are becoming increasingly important. For dealers, access to international demand and inventory is now more critical than ever to maintain sales velocity, optimise pricing, and manage inventory efficiently.
“Our mission is to help dealers seamlessly access the right demand, source the right inventory, and operate more efficiently,” added Peter Duedahl Sørensen, CEO of Auction Group A/S (AutoProff). “In a rapidly changing used-car market with faster demand/supply changes, combined with a shortage of qualified talent and rising operating costs, delivering on that mission has never been more relevant.”
“With AutoScout24 taking full ownership of AutoProff, we have a unique opportunity to accelerate our long-term investments and deliver increasingly intelligent solutions while scaling demand and supply across Europe much faster. By leveraging AutoScout24’s scale — particularly its data assets, AI capabilities, and extensive European dealer network — we can help dealers access more demand, unlock more supply, and operate more efficiently than ever before.”
AutoProff’s headquarters will remain in Vejle, and the company’s more than 100 employees will continue to be based in Denmark.
Key 2026 solution upgrades
As part of this investment programme, AutoProff is launching a series of new solutions during 2026 aimed at helping dealers make better sourcing and selling decisions and operate more efficiently:
AP Estimate is a high-accuracy, 24/7 AI-powered B2B price estimation solution helping sellers and buyers make better pricing, selling, and sourcing decisions based on real-time market intelligence. Since its launch in Denmark in early 2026, AutoProff’s Danish dealers have adopted the solution as part of their daily workflow. By year-end, AP Estimate will be available across AutoProff’s core markets.
AP Managed Smart is a fast, low-cost, AI-assisted self-inspection sales solution enabling sellers to create best-in-class auction listings, reach AutoProff’s full international buyer network, achieve higher sales prices, receive immediate payment, reduce claims costs, and minimise administrative effort by letting AutoProff handle end-to-end sales and transaction management. The first customers are already using the solution, and it will be rolled out across all markets during 2026.
AP Seller Cockpit combines the launch of an upgraded vehicle create flow integrating AP Estimate, AP Guaranteed Price, booking AP Managed sales services, with the Seller Cockpit itself enabling sellers to always have full overview and control of all ongoing activities in one place. The Seller Cockpit is already available to AP Managed sellers and more smart features will be added during second half of 2026.
AP B2B Marketplace enables dealers to seamlessly and safely source and sell retail-ready stock vehicles from more than 40,000 AutoScout24 dealers across Europe when the right vehicles are not immediately available through traditional B2B auction channels. More than 170,000 retail-ready vehicles are already live on the platform, and the first +500 transactions have been successfully completed.
With increased investment capacity and closer integration with AutoScout24, AutoProff is well positioned to continue expanding its footprint and support a more integrated and efficient European automotive market to the benefit of dealers across Europe.
